Buber's I and You

There are 2 basic words. I-It and I-You. The I is something that we all know, but it is not the I as in a singular I that we all think about. There is actually a duality in the I that appears in relation to the It and the You. It is only in these relations can there be an I. We must experience It and have relations with You. The I-I is expanded not by Buber but by Kaufman. To experience something, we don't effect it. We see a tree, we can name a tree, but we don't have a relationship to the tree. If we did, the tree would be You. It is in the relationship the the you is created.

America - Master and Slave

America - the mixed nation of mixed nations. We are the Master and Slaves of ourselves and of our country. We live by a morality all our own. We desire freedom, and we live for ourselves, but we have our values and if someone goes against them, even if we don't live by them ourselves, we take it as an attack on who we are. We run our government by them, but not our lives. Even in relationships, we are about equality, but are we really equal? We are more then we were 50 years ago. Here is America we truly are "Master and Slave. In equal parts split down the middle drinking doubles at the bar."

If we are too busy caught in our own ways, we don't listen to others. It is in this listening that the truth is found.

Neitzsche had some things right and many things wrong. God is not dead! But viewing man as man we can see the striving towards the superman. This idea is so prevalent these days that there must be some truth in it. The question is how? This only God knows. But we shall soon learn.

The gift of flight has never been reached by any before us. But listen to the masses. Life will guide you. Pursue your destiny.

It is by the interlocking of the disciplined mind that we will be able to see into the future. Don't limit yourself to one area. Pursue life with a passion. It is by this passion that we will be able to fly.

Dawn's Fire

By dawn's fire the question breaks through from the hold that binds intelligence. From the watchful eye of ignorance. The revelation is out there waiting for someone to finally see through the mist that clouds the eyes of men as they walk about dreaming of the life of their ancestors; that precious life that everything was better.

It's about inspiration. To truly think we must wait. To wait we must allow ourselves the freedom to sit and think.

Television

TVs should be burned. -- Those boxes of nothingness that clutter our lives. True knowledge does not come from a TV. It comes from who we are. By learning about ourselves we can learn what it is we are meant for. The meaning of life was never found on TV. Don't let it suck you in.

Fronts

Fronts- Those horrible things that we hide behind searching for the truth. It is only in knowing that we act. Only in acting that we can know the truth. This circle is unbroken. People use the fronts as beginnings into the circle but soon find that it is only in these fronts that they can truly get lost. They never return to their true selves. By building a front, we are sacrificing ourselves to the world.

Careless writing is worse then careless thought, for careless thought can change only your person. Careless writing can change the world.

When I was younger, I craved adventure; craved a mystery. I craved one so far as to create my own. I was the detective trying to use what I could find to solve something that in essence, was a complete fabrication. I wanted to be more, so more I was. At least in my own head. In my mind, I could solve anything. I could be like the heros I read about, and so I strived to make that real, to really be able to solve something. Of Course, now I see that it takes more then mind tricks, but an adult study with a child's mind. I must never lose this; this drive to think, to understand. Its who I am. It is destiny.

Philosophy is the root of it all. To get the essentials, you must study the root. All fields are based in a worldview. Philosophy is the study of that worldview.

In everything, there is an experimental and theoretical aspect, even philosophy. And it is in this experimental realm in our everyday lives. But to enter the theoretical, through study, is to open ourselves up to a world beyond any that we could imagining before entering it. But once we reach that world, there is no turning back. So embrace your field, whatever it may be, and strive to the end. Don't stop at the experimental level, Grow wings and fly.

People spend their whole lives getting inside someone else's head, but never look to see what's in their own.

It is by oppression that we gain religion. It is by the pain that we learn. Neitsche was right. He just got his conclusion wrong. Why is there so much pain? Because it is by this pain that we turn to God. It is in times of suffering that we can gain the lives that we were meant to live. When you are nothing, you have nothing to give. It is in these moments that we can tear ourselves away from ourselves and give ourselves to God.
